The Bundeswehr Institute of Radiobiology of the Bundeswehr Medical Academy, lead by Director Prof. Dr. Col (MC) M. Port, hosted the International Medical Management of Radiation Injuries (I-Med) course that took place in from 11 till 15 December 2023 at their location in Munich, Germany.
The NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine in conjunction with Committee of the Chiefs of Military Medical Services in NATO (COMEDS) will conduct a workshop on medically relevant lessons learned from current and past near-peer conflicts and large-scale combat operations at the NATO Headquarters, Brussels from 21-24 May 2024 (travel days 20 and 25 May 2024).
The NATO Medical Standardization Orientation Course (ADL 390) has been updated by NATO MILMED COE.
In the heart of Hawaii at Schofield Barracks, an improved medical training program is shaping the future of military healthcare in jungle environments. The Jungle Medicine Course (JMED) is a two-week-long course. It is designed to train and certify the Military Occupational Specialty (68W) and Army Medical (AMEDD) Officers on the unique challenges of a jungle environment. JMED provides groundbreaking methods to prepare military medical professionals for the Indo-Pacific region.
In a display of international cooperation and professionalism, in the first week of October 2023, a military medical evaluation team embarked on a mission to evaluate the Balkan Medical Task Force located just outside Maribor, Slovenia. This endeavor not only showcased the dedication of these medical professionals but also highlighted the capabilities and unity of the countries in this region.
A NATO MEDEVAL team of 9 personnel from 5 NATO member states were invited to evaluate the Austrian Aeromedical evacuation capability in week 36 of 2023. The Austrian aeromedical evacuation team showcased their precision, dedication, and expertise in providing critical care during challenging scenarios across the 3 days.

News
From 27th to 31st of August 2023, 25 highly motivated medical specialists working in units under the operational coordination of the Department for Emergency Situations within the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs, and military participants under the Romanian Ministry of Defence, successfully completed the NATO MEDEVAL Course in Bucharest in Romania.
