The 3-day NATO Major Incident Medical Management and Support (MIMMS) course is a crucial training for personnel involved in major incident planning and response. As the only international standard in major incident medical management, it is taught and practiced globally, incorporated into both civilian and military medical procedures.
A lessons learned workshop was hosted by the Committee of the Chiefs of Military Medical Services (COMEDS) in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine (NATO MILMED COE) at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium from 21-24 May 2024.
On April 25, 2024, Semmelweis University and the NATO MILMED COE signed a cooperation agreement primarily aimed at organizing joint training sessions and events, as well as developing healthcare simulation programs.
Preparation for the Exercise Vigorous Warrior 2024 and Clean Care 2024 is virtually coming to the end, and the exercises enter into the implementation phase. To help this process, the NATO MILMED COE has developed an Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Pre-exercise Training Package to educate and prepare participants for the exercises.
The Bundeswehr Institute of Radiobiology of the Bundeswehr Medical Academy, lead by Director Prof. Dr. Col (MC) M. Port, hosted the International Medical Management of Radiation Injuries (I-Med) course that took place in from 11 till 15 December 2023 at their location in Munich, Germany.
The NATO Centre of Excellence for Military Medicine in conjunction with Committee of the Chiefs of Military Medical Services in NATO (COMEDS) will conduct a workshop on medically relevant lessons learned from current and past near-peer conflicts and large-scale combat operations at the NATO Headquarters, Brussels from 21-24 May 2024 (travel days 20 and 25 May 2024).
The NATO Medical Standardization Orientation Course (ADL 390) has been updated by NATO MILMED COE.
In the heart of Hawaii at Schofield Barracks, an improved medical training program is shaping the future of military healthcare in jungle environments. The Jungle Medicine Course (JMED) is a two-week-long course. It is designed to train and certify the Military Occupational Specialty (68W) and Army Medical (AMEDD) Officers on the unique challenges of a jungle environment. JMED provides groundbreaking methods to prepare military medical professionals for the Indo-Pacific region.
