Virtual Reality and Military Medicine - NATO MILMED COE at the Profession Star Festival

On 26–27 March 2026, the NATO MILMED COE once again participated in the Szakma Sztár Festival, presenting its capabilities at the stand of the National Directorate General for Hospitals, following their invitation. The primary objective of the event was to engage and guide young people facing career decisions, to which the Centre’s innovative, technology-driven approach contributed effectively.

Within the framework of the festival, the national finals of the National Vocational Study Competitions (OSZTV) and the Best Student of the Profession Competition (SZKTV) were held, where the most talented representatives of more than 50 different professions competed, including carpenters, electricians, hairdressers, and automotive technicians. The event also hosted the national selection rounds organised by WorldSkills Hungary, determining who will represent Hungary at the upcoming WorldSkills Competition and EuroSkills Competition.

Visitors were offered a unique insight into NATO MILMED COE’s virtual reality-based education and collaboration capabilities. The educational and conference centre developed in the Spatial metaverse was accessible for exploration, while several healthcare-focused VR applications were also available for hands-on experience. This interactive environment not only attracted attention from a technological perspective but also clearly demonstrated the future direction of modern military medical training.

The stand drew significant interest, particularly among younger audiences, providing them with a tangible understanding of international opportunities within military healthcare, as well as the practical application of advanced digital education tools.

The event was officially opened by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who delivered the opening address and subsequently visited the exhibition stands.

NATO MILMED COE’s participation once again confirmed its leading role in military medical education and its active contribution to inspiring and engaging the next generation of professionals.
